RECOMMENDATIONS
Wow - this hotel went beyond our expectations for a budget family
vacation.   Surrey, B.C.
    We found a great deal on Expedia at $50.00US per night (including
    breakfast) and thought we'd take a chance on this family run hotel.
    What a pleasant surprise when we arrived to see lush tropical
    gardens surrounding super clean, comfortable suites. We stayed in
    a Junior Suite with a 2 year old and a 6 year old, and the suite had
    everything we needed including a microwave, fridge with freezer,
    sink, dishes, large clean bathroom, and tv with a spanish kids
    channel. The pools were spotlessly clean, and the kids pool was
    perfect for us. It helps if you know a little spanish to communicate
    with the kitchen staff, but there was always someone around to
    translate if needed. The rate included a lovely breakfast made fresh
    - the kids enjoyed hotcakes and we had eggs, bread and fresh
    squeezed orange juice daily. There is a mini market on site for
    convenience, very inexpensive and well stocked with milk,
    sundries, etc. And a word about the management - super
    accomodating, pleasant to deal with, English Speaking, and just the
    best. Thanks Ricardo & Lucia! We will be back again soon.

    "We just finished a 7-week vacation at the Villas Paraiso hotel and
    we warmly recommend it. Although modest, the suites are practical
    and comfortable. It is a family hotel and Ricardo, the manager and
    the rest of the staff are very gentle. The swimming pool is
    surrounded by beautiful lush gardens. Breakfast is optional and the
    suites have equipped kitchenettes. We also had daily maid service.
    The hotel is located close to the main beach and also close to the
    bus stops, and to convenient places. There are other beaches close
    by. Finally, it is a good value hotel and we loved our stay in Ixtapa-
    Zihuatanejo, and plan to return there soon".

    "I just spent 2 weeks in Ixtapa and stayed at the Villas Paraiso. It
    was an excellent experience. The staff was so friendly, it was like
    staying with friends. They make you feel so welcome and
    appreciate your visit. As well, the long term guests there give it a
    real community feel. The rooms were well maintained and cleaned
    everyday. A fridge and hot stove allowed us to make meals as we
    wished, or we could walk just one block to the restaurants and
    shops. The local buses run right by the hotel and pick you up or
    drop you off right on the corner. The pool was a welcome
    distraction when it got too hot sitting in the sun, working on my tan.
    And, it's just a few minutes walk from the beach... I'd stay here
    again before staying at one of the large, impersonal, packaged
    chain hotels on the beach. Two thumbs up from this contented
    guest".

    "Just had to write again and let travellers know of a great place to
    stay.  This is the 3rd time we stay at the Villas Paraiso in Ixtapa ,
    Mex.  We feel as comfortable as if we were at home. It has a very
    friendly and laid back atmosphere. Excellent location to beaches,
    restaurants , shops and a short bus ride to the town of Zihuatanejo.  
    We would never want to stay anywhere else.  Ricardo the manager
    and Lucy  the head of marketing, will look after any of your wants or
    needs. The hotel is very well looked after and very clean.  We like
    the standard suites which have a kitchenette which is great for
    making breakfast or lunch. Being Canadian we felt that cost of
    accommodations were very reasonable. Looking forward to staying
    here again".

    "We stayed at the Villa Paraiso Hotel in Ixtapa from March 15 to
    March 22, 2004. The hotel had all suites and though they were a
    little run down, they were very big and were kept clean. The
    customer service was GREAT all week. They gave us two rooms for
    the price of one when they saw that we had two teenage girls and a
    toddler with us. They were very helpful with tour information, things
    to do, etc. All in all, a very pleasant experience".

    Coming again next year! When my wife and I first stayed here in
    2002, we could not get over the attention and friendliness that was
    given to us. The kitchen facilities fit our wants-needs, with
    everything we would hope for. Shower-bathroom facilities are clean
    as well as the bedroom with two double beds. Units each have a
    balcony and front walk-way, adequate to hold lawn chairs to sit on
    outside, comfortable. Large pool, 1.25 meters deep with large area
    around the pool for sunbathing on chaisse-lounges. I like the palm
    trees as well as other plant life of this nature, it gives me calm
    comfortable feeling. I love the comfort and the calmness displayed
    here. The maids and some of the other employees are learning
    English on the premises and are taking a delightful approach to this.
    Some of us, English-speaking people, do greet the employees with
    a little limited Spanish, and they encourage us to continue.

    "Great, helpful and friendly staff, perfect for families. We visit every
    year, kids enjoy the pool and we enjoy the company and laid-back
    atmosphere. Many visitors make their annual pilgrimage to Villas
    Paraiso, many from Canada and America. Hotel is very pleasant and
    has cooking facilities. Access to all the nearby beaches,
    restaurants, groceries is easy and convenient. Rates are
    reasonable, staff is very accommodating - they treat every guest as
    special. Highly recommend staying there".
